Protecting the Environment and Promoting Biodiversity.

Biodiversity

We recognise the huge significance ecology can play on a development.

So this is why each of our developments are appointed a dedicated Estates Manager, who ensures our open spaces are managed sympathetically and in line with the Landscape Management Plans, safeguarding both the habitats and wildlife onsite.

We also undertake regular surveys to continually monitor the biodiversity across our developments.

We are passionate about supporting wildlife.

Our team of specialists surveys each of our developments to document each of the habitats and their conditions. We then discuss, with developers and our residents, ways in which we can collectively enhance these habitats to invite wildlife back.

How are Scottish Estates promoting biodiversity on their developments?

Scottish Estates are promoting and inspiring biodiversity through several initiatives, including:

Holding Events

with our communities to educate them on the importance of supporting our wildife

Site Specific Resources

tailored to support the habitats within their development

Native Seed Packs

to allow families to support pollinators within their gardens

Fact & Spotter Sheets

to inspire children to get involved and learn more about the native wildlife

Some of the ways we have engaged our residents to get involved.

Bug & Bee Hotels

We have provided families with Bee & Bug hotels to help provide insects with a suitable habitat.

Photo Competition

We have held competitions inviting residents to take photos of their open spaces.

Wildlife Watch

We have provided families with spotter sheets to help us survey the local wildlife on their developments.

Save the Bee’s

We have provided families with seed packs and promoted bee friendly practices which can then be adopted within their gardens.

Painting Competition
